BRAZIL – Brazil will soon have 26 meat plants authorized to export to China, potentially worth $520 million in annual sales, the government announced last week.
Nine new refrigeration facilities have been approved – eight cattle and one poultry.
Zhu Shuping, Chinese minister for Quality Inspection and Quarantine Administration, conducted the audits of five beef plants in Sao Paulo state and individual facilities in Rio Grande do Sul, Mato Grosso and Goias.
The single poultry unit is in Parana.
